LILAC FARM is situated in the picturesque village of Levisham within the North York Moors National Park.
It is our family run sheep and arable farm. We have Swaledale sheep (with curly horns) which roam over the heather moorland near the farm and a flock of Mule ewes which graze in the fields around the village. We grow fodder beet to feed the sheep in winter and also some barley.
We are happy to show our guests around the farmyard and explain about the tractors and other machinery in the farmyard as well as how the farm functions throughout the different seasons of the year. In spring or early summer there may be a pet lamb to feed. Perhaps you would like to gather eggs for your breakfast from our small flock of free range hens? Most children love to see all the tractors and gather eggs – fresh eggs with golden yolks taste wonderful.
